Why You Need to Add BCAAs to Your Workout Program

Let's face it, some...okay most people don't really care about supplement science. Most people just want to have fun and and get results.

I feel you… I do…but let me explain briefly why that is not enough especially if you are training regularly.

Branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) are essential amino acids, meaning that they cannot be produced in the body and must be consumed through our diet. They’re typically found in protein-rich foods such as animal meat, eggs, and dairy, but are also a popular supplement choice for athletes due to their ability to:

● Increase muscle growth
● Decrease muscle soreness
● Reduce exercise fatigue
● Decrease muscle breakdown during exercise

I use them primarily to decrease muscle soreness and reduce exercise fatigue since I’m training clients most days and getting my own workouts in. Training multiple times per week can be hard on the body so treating it like care about it is crucial.


BCAAs enhance that body’s ability to prevent muscle breakdown and improve muscle repair due to these essential amino acids being readily available in their simplest form for consumption. As a result, they can be digested and absorbed quickly to go to work and improve athletic capacity day after day.

BCAAs are typically consumed in water before and during exercise when they are most effective for providing a steady stream of proteins to the muscles. Several studies have shown that BCAAs are highly effective for preventing a catabolic state in muscles when consumed in conjunction with a training session, and consuming BCAAs just three days a week can improve overall essential amino acid intake to see improvements in performance.

But not all BCAA powders are the same. Our BCAAs have no fillers, no artificial colors and no artificial flavors. We derive out BCAAs from plants instead of human hair like some brands (YUK!). Our BCAAs taste better than water and provide valuable (clean) aminos for your body.
